Joe Simpson is an internationally published photographer based in Malibu, California. Simpson realized his love for photography at an early age, when his mother gave him his first camera back in Texas, where he was born and raised, moving around from one small town to the next. As an adult, he moved his own family and life from Dallas to Los Angeles, where Joe found success in the entertainment industry, and flourished in many platforms from music to television. Joe was a pioneer for “Reality TV” where he produced and created shows such as Newly Weds on MTV and Filthy Rich Cattle Drive on E! Entertainment.
Joe also has been in the forefront of fashion and music where he produced chart topping albums, and managed the careers of many successful artists, establishing them as some of the most well known and recognized artist and brands today. Joe’s background and experience in the fashion and music space can be seen in his fine art, as well as fashion photography. Both entail his campaigns, editorials & portraiture work, with focus on bridging the gap between lifestyle and fashion. Simpson’s fine art work, which is mixed media based, resonates disquiet energy. His body of work, is inspired from the Warhol Factory times of Pop Art, alludes to both California cool, and calculated brand creation. It embraces clichés and styles that exude the hygienic optimism endemic to the local LA art scene. Joe’s hard work and commitment to excellence in his art will continue with upcoming shows this summer in the Hamptons, and a group show at Warhol’s last outpost in NYC this fall.
